Why Jeevie Facial Masks?
What Makes Us Different
Unlike Wet Masks, We Don’t Use Additives to Stay Shelf-Stable
Jeevie Facial Masks are designed for skincare that is gentle, effective, and easy to enjoy. Most conventional masks, like sheet masks, contain moisture and rely on synthetic preservation systems to stay shelf-stable. Our masks come as dry powders you mix fresh at home. This approach lets your skin enjoy nourishing ingredients without unnecessary exposure to preservatives.
Our Ingredients are Everything
Each mask features a subset of 14 botanicals that have been cherished in South Asian skincare for centuries and supported by modern research. These ingredients help calm, nourish, brighten, and protect, so your skin feels healthier and more resilient over time. Learn more in our Ingredients section.

We use “preservation systems” as an umbrella term for all ingredients needed to keep wet masks stable. This includes antimicrobial preservatives, stabilizers, solvents, and certain fragrance components such as phenoxyethanol, benzyl alcohol, paraben compounds, and formaldehyde-releasing agents like DMDM hydantoin.
Effects of Preservation Systems in Facial Masks
“Even with just a few uses, exposure to preservation systems (such as those containing phenoxyethanol or paraben compounds) can begin to stress the skin’s comfort. For some people, this may show up quickly as tightness, stinging, or low-grade irritation, especially when skin is already sensitive or compromised.”
“Over weeks of continued use, certain preservation system components (like benzyl alcohol or paraben-based antimicrobials) may interfere with the skin’s natural balance. Skin can start to feel persistently dry, reactive, or less able to tolerate products it once handled easily.”
“After months of repeated exposure, preservation systems that include parabens or formaldehyde-releasing agents such as DMDM hydantoin are more commonly associated with cumulative irritation in susceptible individuals. What may have started as subtle discomfort can develop into ongoing sensitivity, leaving skin feeling chronically unsettled and harder to keep calm.”
