Why Jeevie Facial Masks?
What Makes Us Different
Most facial masks, including sheet masks, contain moisture and rely on synthetic preservation systems to prevent mold growth and stay shelf-stable.
On the other hand, our masks come as dry powders that you mix with water, fresh at home.
This approach lets your skin enjoy nourishing ingredients without unnecessary exposure to preservatives.
Ingredients are Everything
Each mask features a blend drawn from a set of 14 botanicals that have been cherished in South Asian skincare for centuries and supported by modern research.
These ingredients have a range of properties that have been proven to make skin feel healthier and more resilient over time.

Why We Avoid Preservation Systems
Preservation systems are the ingredient blends wet masks need to stay stable over time.
They often combine antimicrobial preservatives, stabilizers, solvents, and certain fragrance components, including ingredients you may recognize like phenoxyethanol, benzyl alcohol, paraben compounds, or preservatives such as DMDM hydantoin.
While these systems are used for product stability, this extra formula complexity can be tough on your skin.
For sensitive or reactive skin, repeated exposure can quietly contribute to irritation, dryness, or a compromised-feeling barrier over time.

How Can Preservation Systems Be Harmful?
Even with just a few uses, exposure to preservation systems (such as those containing phenoxyethanol or paraben compounds) can begin to stress the skin’s comfort. For some people, this may show up quickly as tightness, stinging, or low-grade irritation, especially when skin is already sensitive or compromised.
Over weeks of continued use, certain preservation system components (like benzyl alcohol or paraben-based antimicrobials) may interfere with the skin’s natural balance. Skin can start to feel persistently dry, reactive, or less able to tolerate products it once handled easily.
After months of repeated exposure, preservation systems that include parabens or formaldehyde-releasing agents such as DMDM hydantoin are more commonly associated with cumulative irritation in susceptible individuals. What may have started as subtle discomfort can develop into ongoing sensitivity, leaving skin feeling chronically unsettled and harder to keep calm.
